Pre-Halloween!

I am so busy right now- I have to study for a mid-term and make costumes tonight (I will have no time tomorrow!) But I have to post these pics of our first and second pumpkin patches and our first dress up Halloween activity. We have totally different Halloween costumes for Halloween night, so I am not spoiling the surprise. Noelle was Dora the Explorer and Chloe was a flower for Trunk or Treat ( an activity held at our church where kids trick or treat out of the trunks of all the cars in the parking lot). I think Noelle got embarassed about her costume because today she asked if she could be a princess instead of Dora. Her Dora costume was so Halarious!! The first pumpkin patch we went to Noelle went on the biggest blow up slide all by herself. Today we went to another one where we met up with some friends to take in all the festivities. Check out the pics they are so funny!

We tried to take a family photo before church last Sunday and all we could get is one half of the family or the other!

A few nights ago I was feeding the girls dinner and I looked out the window and this is what I saw! It was the most phenomenal sunset I have ever seen! I went outside and took pictures for the whole time the sun was setting.


On another note -Chloe said her first word "UP!" She lifted her arms above her head and said "UP!" and call me crazy but she also said "OUT!" the other day when she was done with her nap. Isn't she a doll!

Yes on Prop 8!

I believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion and this is mine. I am voting Yes on Prop 8 for a variety of reasons but the number one reason is my children. Let me first point out that I am in no way intolerant of people who are gay. I believe that everyone has a right to live their lives the way that they see fit and I don't want to take away the rights of homosexuals. I believe that if gay people want to enter into a commited relationship with their partner they should be able to do so ....but call it something different, because I believe it is different. With that said I believe that as a parent I have the right to raise my children with the beliefs and faith that I have been raised in. In Massachuseetts gay marriage has already been legalized. There is a book called "The King, and The King" that is read to 2nd graders in which a prince looks all over for a princess and can't find one so he marries the prince of his dreams. I believe that the greatest happiness in life comes from a man and a woman joining together in the sacred ordinance of marriage. A home where love is taught and children are welcomed and raised in love. I am going to teach my children to seek after this, and I am not going to raise my children under the notion that they can choose someone of either sex. Can you really picture yourself telling your 7 year old that when they grow up they can choose to marry either a man or a woman. If when my children are grown they choose to be gay I would in no way love them any less or treat them any differently. Once you are blessed with children you realized that there is nothing that they can do to make you love them any less. I believe that if the goal in teaching children about gay marriage in public schools is to teach tolerance, the goverment is doing my job! It is my job and right to teach my children tolerance of all people. But I probably wouldn't bring up the subject of sexuality to my second grader! I would hope that the message of tolerance would go to both sides of this argument, not only people showing tolerance of the homosexual lifestyle, but also showing the same respect to those with the religious belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, and a more traditional approach to marriage.

HEAT WAVE!!!

It has been so hot for the past couple of weeks! In any other "normal" climate October is the time for pumpkin patches and sweaters, but here we are still going strong in 80 degree weather!Which is not necessarily a good thing, it has been summer here since March! I need a good rainstorm to curl up and get out the crafts! The girls and I start out the day at the pool, then we grab daddy for a lunch break at the beach, then my day is only half over and sitting inside and relaxing is NOT an option (we don't have air conditioning!) so we head back down to the pool. It is exhasting! Today we made finger paints to break up our pool, beach, pool routine! The finger paint recipe was a great discovery because Chloe could do it too, and even if she ate it, it didn't matter because all it is made of is cornstarch, water and food coloring!

KID FAIRE!!!

We found the FUNNEST thing!! The Kid Faire!!! It will go down in history as one of the best days in little Noelles life because she got to meet her idol...DORA THE EXPLORER! I can not tell you how excited she was! They had tons of free stuff and great inventions at the trade show, I had a ball. We got to see a dog show, a Strawberry Shortcake show and Abes favorite, a roller derby! The girls got to meet Super Why, eat fair food, plant a flower and get ballon animals!
